Both looked decent. Better options than Cook IMO.

Like Nabay, being looked at for potential season-long loans

Seen Nabay twice (Totton & Hampton)....he's crap.
NO WAY will we take him on loan, he's not even Isthmian League standard.
Think Fulham are stuck with dead wood there.

Gotta say NONE of today's triallists impressed me.

I had high hopes of Nabay after the Brentford game...but looked very ordinary.

Cook (#6?) looked better when Callum was there to advise and guide. But he seemed to have far more confidence in his passing than his ability merits. Too much showing off and not enough actual simple defending

We have the best back 5 in the league. Cole,Alexander,Evans,Reynolds and Arnold
it was never going to be easy signing someone as good on our budget.

I agree the trialists have looked poor in the Brentford and Hampton games I've been too. Must be a bit frustrating for the manager because we need to strengthen the squad and these trialists just aren't up to it so far. Feel like I don't want the clubs money wasted on any of these players. Having said that this corresponding games last year we lost 3-0 and looked diabolical. Those players then made the Play Offs. Football is a strange game.

I'd just dip into the loan market, these free agents are free for a reason!

Thought today was a useful run-out to round off a long, hard week for the squad. Very even game overall, although it got very disjointed second half with all the subs - typical pre-season fare. The game was spoilt slightly by a ref who seemed to have little regard for player welfare, with crunching fouls unpunished and players left on the floor to look after themselves. Jolley was a repeat offender who could, and perhaps should, have been 'invited' to be subbed.

We were undone by an early lapse by Smith who seemed to be out of position, and a weird mix-up late on between Cole and Webber. Top performer for me was Cheye, and Mensah had a great first half. Fenners took the goal well after some nice build-up play.

For me the trialists did alright, we can't expect them to slip into an established side and play like gods. Lyons-Foster was fairly impressive, Cook is good in the tackle and the air but can't pass for toffee, Webber looked ok for the first hour but was lost when moved to LB. Nabay started well but drifted out of the game. None of them are pulling up trees yet, it'll be interesting to see who steps up to the plate on Wednesday.

Finally a mention for H&RB, decent friendly club and I wish them well for the season.

I like a statement like that, crystal clear, crystal :)

Gary Waddock says that his top priority is to sign another defensive centre back and I agree with this. However another priority, should be to sign at least one more striker, as we have at present bare bones with only three strikers on the books. If one or two get injured we will be in trouble.I`m also not aware that the current trialists have included any strikers.
