Never like bids or auctions as they are exclusive.
I'm sure a wide range of people with varying budgets would like to have a chance to purchase these special shirts.
A raffle at an affordable price would be more suitable and therefore give many a chance and not just a few.

Good point. If all the shirts make 200£ we raise about 4000£. Surely we can sell 2000 £2 raffle tickets over the period ‘now to Woking’.

And I would think that 200£ is going to be beyond the means of so many supporters...resulting in the auction delivering no more than a confirmation of financial status and a bit of cash for the club.

The approach makes ‘our remembrance’ a bit ‘vulgar’...

Just a silly girl opinion of course.

Much like the auctions for Children in need they do on Radio 2. Chris Evans rallies the rich to call and they are exclusive prizes for those who can afford 10k plus.

I have now taken the trouble to read more than simply this thread.

With the awful Chris Evans auctions I guess the cash does at least go to Children in Need.

Having read the News item, I now assume we are giving the cash raised from the Poppy Shirt Sales to the Royal British Legion ‘Poppy Appeal 2017’?

But if we are in fact keeping the cash to pay for another loan player we should hang our heads in shame...perhaps someone can reassure me?

Some of us just work extra hours whenever possible & save to afford a shirt , its not necessarily the rich or the few. And as I understand it all proceeds go to the Poppy Appeal.

Excellent, if this is the case.

Just a suggestion to those running the auction: It would be helpful to know what size each shirt was.

I was thinking that.
I think people think they are more likely to win with a lower bid for the perhaps less popular players.

So 21 shirts to be bid on, so far £1,900 total has been bid. Pring shirt still received no bids.

As for myself I had two particular shirts in mind for my nephews but both sadly gone beyond my price range, but in a strange way I suppose I’ve helped raise more by making others outbid me. Good luck to those that continue to bid.

Who is Jack banner ?

And why does he need so many shirts?

Does he suffer with the cold ?
