Maybe some things shouldn't be publicised, Giles.

May is always the favoured time for managers to go on holiday as very little can be done with prospective players as most will still be under contract just as ours are. Mid to late June is when I would expect to see some activity and then by the beginning of July into mid July you get the drip down effect coming into play as League Two players become available at our level due to not getting offers from other League Two clubs.

Its way to early at this stage to be getting worried about new signings

Not the dreaded "Terry Brown" drip down effect :o

I can't see any new signings or resigning of some of the players we want to re-sign as I understand our Manager has gone on holiday! Or am I miss informed?
some time off? - outrageous!!
It's not about time off its about the playing squad and as a business we need it sorted, players these days don't hang about and I feel we are going to lose a few we want to keep and potential signings.
It's not as though we have technology which allows a manager to speak to players from the other side of the world is it?

You let your boss ring you when you're on holiday all the time I expect

Have they built the new stadium yet?

Technically the players have been on holiday since the day after Ebbsfleet, and I presume Gary has had meetings with those players he has re-signed and released. And if my boss was calling me to help decide whether I had a job for the next 12 months, I'd definitely take that call, holiday or not - wouldn't you?

Seems like some people are again trying to find fault every which way they can.

Skype, FaceTime, a plain old phone call, whatever - if it's players Gary already knows he doesn't necessarily need to see body language, or he may be saying 'I'm back on Monday, meet you at 10am in my office'.

I'm assuming Kinsella and Cole came to the Rec to sign their contracts - Lewis's interview was in the Directors Box, so he must have - so whos to say Gary hasn't already had face-to-face meetings with new signings as well? Gary's holiday is the new 'going to away games by train'.

Let's see what happens then.
