Ricky Miller with his head in the right place would be a great signing, but in truth like Headingly Shot he's more than likely a loose cannon.

In response to a Shots fan on twitter Ricky says that both his Mum and best friend live round this area.

Ricky said his Mum would love it if he was playing for Aldershot.

Disclaimer: Ricky’s Mum doesn’t live with his best friend.

Last year there were times when we needed a bit of attitude and as for weight forest green got a lot out of Jon Parkin.

It seems from what I read he would be a gamble. We certainly should not endanger Club finances for any player. So if available, Mr Waddock, will need to make a careful decision.

Given the Shots position, I strongly believe that we should be searching lower league clubs for promising young talented strikers with potential and not seeking older far more expensive players.

I’m no expert but all the evidence is the Shots are skint (Company annual returns, 500 club, Recent GW comment.. “us pay a transfer fee, don’t make me laugh ?”, Chairman continually looking for investors, ground sharing with Chelsea reserve teams, rent the pitch, rent a function room, Volunteers needed for everything you can think of and selling 2 players on last year too)
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Club is trying to get players to pay for their pre season training if they come on trial !
Come to the Shots Ricky.... we’ve got nowt but a smile on our faces !
Apart from that your feeling pretty good about next season Dean?
I think a good start and building some momentum is key if you want to challenge for the Championship.
Has there ever been more clubs in this division with more financial resources than the Shots ?
I don’t think so.
We will have a better idea by the end of July but I’m sure that the likes of Ricky Miller will be well outside our budget.
His “Come and get me” plea is more about raising the ante on his signing on fee with other clubs, he’s not coming here.

Fine porcelain with even a slight flaw is just another cup in the cupboard. Gary and James are just the people who could reignite his career

He may be willing to take a smaller wage cut, we may be able t afford him but it may hinder quality elsewhere slightly. I think we might nab him, who knows. He has sated he just wants to enjoy his football, can't see him starting for a L2 club and will he go back to Dover? we shall see...

Can’t see us having the money to get him, unless the fans could cough up again.

We find the money, sign him, will probably go up. Not find the money stay in mid table most of the season with little chance of going anywhere.

Us fans cough up every time we walk though the turnstiles !! We also coughed up EXTRA last season, Not every one of us has deep pockets.
Think most of us regular fans have chest infections we have coughed up so much in the past few years.
With so many high profile players off the wage bill last season and now, you’d think we could stretch to one decent striker.
If we can’t then the coughing will continue despite the antibiotic course.

The tweet Ricky Miller wrote

“Port vale , Aldershot , Dover , Lincoln I honestly don’t care I just want promotion , playoffs , Wembley trips and goals lots of them”

Curious that he’s named us, may have enquired but I doubt we can afford it.
i imagine Dover would want him back.
If a club like Dover can afford him and we can’t then it’s time to pack in I think, his goals would get us in the league!
