Looking good so far. Just need to keep playing the same way. Sterling, as he has all tournament, playing well.

Come on, England. See it through!

Proud of the team tonight. If nothing else, they've brought pride back to those of us who love our multi-cultural nation.

Not in the first half. Second half Croatia upped their game and we resorted to it.

England heartbreak

Poor performance tonight - against an average team - still at least we have the “Brexit” thread on this board to keep us going !!!

Yep. Should have been 2-0 at half time.

Agree, a lost opportunity like the shots last 2.5 months of the season, at least sterling will continue to get plenty of chances though...... to continue being **** for England!

Gutted, I thought we were going to do it.

When we scored and I had found time to calm down from the excitement I did worry that we had perhaps scored a little too early and funnily enough Pickford said that during his post match interview.

If ever there was an example of the expression a game of two halves that game would fit the bill.

Still very proud of them and looking forward to a few years of more exciting International football than we have had for some while. Might even start going to watch them again.

Like Shearer in 96 v the Germans in the semi. Scored too early. :(

Beaten by the better side on the night and had our limitations finally exposed - we've lacked creativity since the start of the tournament and I think the number of clear chances created over the last few games supports that. No service for Harry and poor final balls for much of the game. Very much like the way Southgate has conducted himself but thought he was too slow making a change while it was still 1-0, Croatia had been on top for some time.

Still, quite a few positives to take from the tournament as a whole and it gave us an interesting ride for a while. Will be interesting to see how they do in the near future now that expectations are right back up again :)

Now we have lost to a better team in Coratia lets hope they go on to win in the final. Any team apart from the French to lift the cup.

I, like many, feel gutted. It's the Shots in the playoffs all over again. Croatia over the 120 minutes were the better side, and yes maybe we did score too early but that early goal rocked Croatia somewhat, and over the next 25-30 minutes we should have really been 2-0 up.

When look back on what the England teams from u17's to the full international team have achieved over the past year, I feel a lot more optimistic about the future. The international set up looks to be in good shape, just hope that at club level these youngsters are given a chance to grow.

As for the final without trying to sound bitter, I think France will be too strong for Croatia. 3 extra time games means that Croatia have played a whole game more than France when it comes to minutes on the pitch and have a day less to recover.

First half was good-Croatia rocked by the early goal and looked poor. Second half they reorganised and took the game to us, and as mentioned, we struggled to create.
So still a lot to do, but we have ended up in the top 4,possibly 3 come sat evening, so achieved more than expected.
If there is progress, we hopefully should see that for the next Euros.
