The Aldershot Town Supporters Trust are delighted to announce a new Alliance with FansBet, the only betting site that shares profits with fan organisations. This means that your money still goes to a good cause, even after a losing bet.

All money raised through this route will go to Boost The Budget – and totals will be announced at the start of each quarter.

The process is very simple – just signup to join Fansbet via their website www.fansbet.com; and as part your user account indicate that Aldershot Town is your football club; and that you support “The Shots Trust”. 50% of the net profits associated to Shots fans will be handed to the Trust for our fundraising efforts at the end of every quarter.

To celebrate the start of this relationship – Aldershot were 9/1 for Promotion but FansBet are offering 12/1 for a short time. Other specials are available – look for “National League Specials” in the football section.

Please consider switching allegieance from other online betting firms to ensure that your money will become “win-win” !

As a Shots Trust Life Member I am very disappointed to find out that the Committee are Promoting Betting with in the club and fan base especially after one of our great players of recent times has suffered terribly through betting.

Sadly it seems that only you and I scorp are worried about this move by the Trust. What a shame some of those who are bleating about the Trust Chairman giving up his seat on the club committee don't realise that a seat on the board means nothing.........

I have also expressed concerns away from this message board as it does seem a bit strange that the trust have gone down this direction when the Football Club itself has made a point of saying that it will not seek unethical sponsorship such as gambling, payday loans and breweries and have stuck by that ethos. But of course the trust are independent of the club and are therefore free to follow their own conscience. Personally I will be glad to see this association between the trust and Fansbet come to an end at some point in the not too distant future.

Thank you for your post Richard.....
Thanks from me also. And thanks BillB for taking a stand. I wonder if the recent kerfuffle about the trust has anything to do with this deal. Just a thought, but!

Yet we sell alcohol at the games and have a smoking area?

I wonder if Scotty Davies would think that's a secondary issue or a deflective point...

From memory Frimley Park Hospital has a smoking area outside but I don't think they have any of their wards sponsored by Benson & Hedges nor do they encourage you to buy their products to benefit the hospital funding.

I can see where your trying to come from Brian but sorry selling alcohol and allowing smoking in specific areas is not the same thing as actively encouraging online gambling.

I would like to clarify something that I said in my original post which has been misunderstood by someone on the Trust board.

Where I say "I will be glad to see this association come to an end at some point" I am referring to the association between The Trust and Fansbet I am not suggesting that that I wish the Trust itself to come to an end. I have edited my original post to further make this clear.

Yes I'm aligned with Birdy on that ... I'm a gambling escapee at the tender age of 21 and on my own in Aussie. Cards, horses and dogs, I feel very very lucky and this is the first time I've ever mentioned it........ I'm not asking for anything except the chance to stop others falling into the same trap........... I'm probably the biggest fan of the Trust.

Me... the horses, but stopped long ago. In Western Australia i was more interested in Emus and Swans ... as in near freezing temperature drinks of the Emu and Swan beer brands. The heat demanded such attention...
