Chesterfield haven't scored in 5.

Imagine the meltdown here had ATFC not scored in 5.

Boom!

He's 6ft 7 so you can probably guess Mad Dog's tactics from that one fact.

I seem to recall that he drew mixed reactions from Halifax fans last season, averaged 1 goal in 4 games with them. Seems a bit on the desperate side this one, will expect extremely route one football from them.

With the arrival of Tom Denton, Martin Allen has made Gozi Ugwu available for transfer. Gozi failed to score in his nineteen games for Chesterfield but for Woking in the 2015/16 season he managed a respectable 21 goals. Could he do a job for the Shots?

I’ve seen Alfreton a few times this season and Denton has been their best player in most games. He’s not the most mobile of strikers but makes up for it with his heading ability and more skilful than people give him credit for. Think Matt Rhead but not as nasty.

I was told tonight (from a reliable source) that Chesterfield paid £70k for 6’7” Mr Denton, who is 29 yrs old incidentally. Not exactly one for the future...

And in case people don’t already know, Chesterfield have a player (Sam Muggleton) who can launch throw-ins further than Rory Delap used to do. No prizes for guessing what we might expect when we next meet Chesterfield...

They’ve also signed a midfielder on loan from Stevenage and a forward on a youth loan from Rotherham...

Must have loads of players to pick from!
