Update Injury Situation

It seems there isn't much positive news on the injury situation. Just Luke Howell training properly. The real blow is George Fowler. Due to see a specialist. From this article Cole also seeing a specialist. So we actually need another keeper as well.

Any 'volunteers' for the back-up keeper vacancy?

I have put on weight, so could probably fill the goal.

Pretty poor update, what about Arnold, Rowe, Rendell? I feel sorry for Lewis as he works hard and is committed to the cause but Karleigh should be released along with Rowe. They are simply a drain on finances, which we can't afford.Bad news about Cole, time for academy keeper to step up?

And how do we go about releasing them if they don’t have another club to go to? Terminate their contract and we’d have to pay it up until the end anyway.

Mannion's loan expires after Chesterfield so this volunteer could be first choice at Dagenham.

Fair comment however following negotiation the term used is generally ' agreed by mutual consent'. Between them they have contributed very little and our captain has another football job at Brentford. Like you I do not want us to get relegated and we need grafters at the moment to push us clear of the drop. Those two will be long gone at the end of the season anyway and I guess Captain sicknote will retire from playing. I feel that he should be honest and leave as he is a dead weight at the moment and has been since pre season training. Rowe's injury was unfortunate but we do not have unlimited finances. Our survival is paramount. Nothing personal. As a backup keeper I would contact Phil Smith who I believe is unattached and I am sure he would help the club out.

The loss of Fowler means we currently have the same defence as before Christmas. Bernard has done well in that position but that should only be a temporary situation. Osborne is actually a liability because we know it’s a matter of time before he is injured again. If he plays we have to start with him and then take him off. Bringing him on with 20 to go to see out a game is too much of a crazy risk. I hope he leaves as well.

I did wonder if Waddock is giving out some misleading information on injuries to confuse opposition but we will see next week!

Totally agree with releasing some deadwood & wouldn't stop at 2, unfortunately as others have said unless another club is stupid enough to take a chance on our sicknotes/non-contributors then I think we are stuck with them.

I don't think Phil Smith would be inclined to help out, the way he was excluded last season(?) by GW !

He wasn't excluded, he was released at the end of his contract following the departure of Barry Smith. Waddock signed Jake Cole as his replacement.

I think there might be some confusion here? Phil Smith was Barry’s number 1. Mark Smith was our back-up last year who GW clearly didn’t rate.
