Saturday - Potential for Game Off?

Post by Mick Earls Fan Club » Wed Feb 12, 2020 7:48 pm

Weather predictions for Saturday not looking good with Storm Dennis on the way.

The pitch can probably stand up to any rainfall , but could the game be in danger with high winds of 50-60mph expected?
Health and safety major concern I'd imagine - have the club got a plan in place ?

If the forecast is correct I hope it is off....football is ruined by strong winds plus it will give Mo more time to recover and for our need additions to bed in. 😁

If it’s off then surely it can be rearranged for Tuesday? March 2018, (beast from the east week) Hartlepool got called off on the Saturday but played on the Tuesday!

Funny, I thought most clubs have plans in place including early pitch inspections and advice from all H&S aspects of life including police.

Has the worm turned?

That's incredible Bob. Don't the police normally need a weeks notice for a rearranged game? Another irritating trend of the modern game

Postpone it until Danny persuades 3 players to join us on loan. 6 weeks should be possible wih
our massive scouting network.

I must congratulate you on your ability to shoehorn in a moan at the Club no matter the thread subject!

Surely the police don't need any notice if there are no away fans to segregate?

This is just my opinion but I wouldn't see a rearranged game with Boreham Wood requiring more than a curtesy notification to the police, however a weeks notice is preferable to give time for matchday staff, stewards, caterers etc... and even fans to rearrange things they may already have booked to be available.
