‘Dominic Cummings travelled further in lockdown with coronavirus than Crewe Alexandra have ever gone for a competitive game in their 143-year history.‘

Dominic Cummings is a fool of course to do it in the first place and then get found out. He then gets the equivalent of a "Vote of Confidence" as so many football managers do and then what usually happens? Might be wrong, but didn't Ms Sturgeon initially support her CMO in Scotland after her breach of the rules?

Thats your opinion. Mine is different. Professor lockdown was more interested in getting his pants down, slightly different.
And the Scottish one was being defended until she resigned.
Perhaps if he apologises and is allowed to carry on,a mistake shouldn't define his future. If it is good enough for criminals,it should be good enough for him.

All of the senior Tories are jumping to Cummings’ defence.

It appears we could have all visited our families - whether we had the virus or not - over the past few months as, in Michael Gove’s words, it ‘is not a crime’.
His actual words were "caring for your wife & kids is not a crime" but you probably knew .

Yep, and my post wasn’t out of context.

It was against the rules in place at the time that Cummings helped set out. That much is clear.

I would suggest watching this for a timeline: https://twitter.com/bbcnewsnight/status ... 07653?s=21

Cummings’ wife has family in London. He did not have to drive 270 miles to see his parents (who are in the vulnerable age group).

DC has made a major contribution to the success of the British Government for example in implementing Brexit as required by the Referendum. His poor judgement whilst suffering from the coronavirus was a mistake but perhaps understandable given his personal circumstances at the time.He is employed as an advisor and is not a Government Minister, therefore, a slap on the wrist should be sufficient punishment.

Now i suspect this is the key part in all this.

Current efforts to undermine the government at every turn all ultimately lead back to this.

Expect to see the calls for an extension from the usual suspects grow louder and louder as the news moves on from the c/virous.

Johnson was admitted to hospital six days or so after Cummings decided that, while so ill and suffering so badly, he would drive almost 300 miles to a secondary home fully knowing the rules.

Johnson could have pulled him to one a idea and 'advise' that this wasn't a really very good plan.

Whether he is an advisor or a minister, he is firmly in the public eye, broke the legislation and, some might say, put lives at risk.

"Stay at home" applied to him then about as much as "Stay alert" does to him now I guess.

BREAKING: No. 10 say Mr. Cummings' actions were in line with Coronavirus guidelines.

Don't take my word for it, put BBC1 on now.

Typical, moving the goalposts. One rule for us, one rule for them.

Tories know that without Cummings, Johnson will have to think for himself and they quite rightly know that’s not possible.

Could be worse; you might have Diane Abbot thinking for you.

At least she would've been elected

Yes, you are right.

Shall we mention Alastair Campbell instead?

How many WMD did we find?
