Barrow v Bolton, Christ that would have been premier league v conference north 10 years ago, similar with Bradford v Cheltenham 15/20 years ago, just shows you how things can change!

What has Jesus Christ got to do with Barrow, try the prophet instead!

I think he felt guilty about 1972 so let them back in 48 years later!

Nothing wrong with what happened in 1972. Simple enough. They weren't re-elected. That was the system then.

I don't like it when history is rewritten. Somehow Barrow have managed to get people to believe they were improperly treated in 1972. I can understand that they weren't happy about it, but that's football.

As I have said before, what did for them was losing 5 out of their last 6 games, including a 7-1 thrashing at Exeter on the last day of the season.

He got Barrow back in league. What loyalty do owners ever show to managers?

The only issue I have was they didn’t finish bottom but still got thrown out.

I can live with it

They finished bottom the season before but were re-elected.

A fact often conveniently left out of the sob story.

The same in reverse is true for any club that doesn't finish in a promotion place but wins through via the play-offs. Just like we did back in the 80's. I think we were the lowest placed side in Division Four?

Which is exactly why I dont agree with the play off system. Yes I know we wouldn't have been promoted.

Football is part of the entertainment industry and the play-offs are entertaining.

Clubs who lose out to lower clubs in the play-offs really shouldn't complain as they have been given a second opportunity to get promotion despite not having been good enough over the regular season.

They have been more consistent and amassed more points than the lower club who they lose to over two games, even though they have been the better side over the season.
