Question of Sport

Post by Preston Shot » Thu Sep 17, 2020 8:02 am

I wish that i had put a bet on this as Alex Scott as been announced as the new presenter of Question of Sport :D

Black, female and gay so ticks all the boxes we are now looking for in the political correctness world today.

I'll have a stab that one of the captains will be Jermaine Jenas

I'm sure people said exactly the same when Sue Barker took over from David Coleman.

"What? A woman?! It's political correctness gone mad!"

How does race, gender or sexuality (which Alex has never spoken about publicly; in fact there are rumours she’s on an exclusive dating app full of Premier League players. Plus who knows or cares who she dates anyway?) affect anyone’s ability to present a light entertainment show?

The BBC gave Peter Crouch his own podcast and TV show with no experience and look at their love of Robbie Savage...

I’d imagine they’d want sportspeople from other areas to be team captains. Who’s been on Strictly in recent years?

Sue Barker was a good presenter for the show & it’s sad she decided to call it a day IMO.

Alex Scott seems to be a similar type of personality & I think she will do well. QoS has always been an entertaining, fun sports quiz - so I hope they get the balance right to keep that.

Just found out she has a degree in sports journalism and broadcasting. Definitely (over?)qualified to host all of these programmes.

I don't think Sue, Phil or Matt called it a day. They were booted out.
It's a shame as in the recent anniversary edition they all said how much it meant to them and the honour of presenting it.

Good luck to Alex. It will interesting to see who the captains are.
Never quite been the same since Emyln Hughes

I wasn't being fecetious redbluetoyou, I think she is a very good presenter from TV appearances I have seen - eg football programmes and The One Show.
Think she will make up into a top, top host that the public will love.

That’s fine, I know you weren’t. I found that to be an interesting tidbit that confirms she’s well suited to the role.

I like her as well. Also really enjoying Micah Richards’ enthusiasm as a pundit.

New captains are bound to be BBC salaried hosts/pundits - Flintoff and Crouch?

Don't mind Peter Crouch, but can't see the appeal of Flintoff one bit.
