A week later we drew at home to Peterborough 1-1 and remember being very disappointed after stuffing Oxford

I think it held the record for the lowest attendance for a 3rd round tie for a while...

Whether true or not, its obviously beaten all ends up this weekend

I remember that day well. My wife was close to giving birth to twins but I bought a ticket anyway. Luckily they arrived 4 days before.

I then sat in the North stand bricking it, wondering if we could throw a 3 goal lead away.

What a game it was. Brilliant to be there for our greatest moment. Yes it was £9, instead of £3 but money well spent and will remember it forever. Priceless.
Twas a bit chilly no doubt.

The ground was so hard, I believe some players wore trainers as the ruts had been rolled flat !

That record stood till January 2010, when 1322 fans saw Accrington Stanley v Gillingham.

Crawley keeper, Glen Morris played 36 games for Shots. Thought he had a decent game.

David Icke !! As said by reporters, The Shot's got it so right on the pitch and so wrong off it. I often wonder how much it contributed to our eventual demise . That tie could and should have galvanised the Town in backing it's club-like the Jimmy Melia cup games and the 78-79 cup run did. There was a lot of apathy around come 1992, Just 1400 for the final home game. BUT-to quote R Wilfers Esquire from Dicken's "Our Mutual Friend"; "What might have been is not what is" Sort of a bitter sweet memory this game.

Glenn played 39 games for the Shots. He had a steady game. Jack Powell played well.
