Personally I'm all for Dorking.AdeShot wrote: βFri May 13, 2022 9:13 amNo - capacity is currently 1k below what's needed in National League, but you get until Spring the following year to implement. Plans already in place apparently for some more quick build terracing to go around the flat standing areas.South Coast Shot wrote: βFri May 13, 2022 8:26 amI've heard talk of Dorking not being allowed into NL owing to their ground specs?
It's another slice of Surrey / Hants rivalry and just 26 miles apart, though by train

Apparently their away end isn't up to scratch but as you say, they can function while work is being done - if we do go to Dorking I hope we will be allowed percussion, unlike Bowers & Pitsea.
As Jim Reeves said - Let there be drums.

If the ground wasn't up to scratch, they wouldn't be allowed in the playoffs, it happened a couple of years back but I cant remember which team it was, maybe Hungerford or Concorde?
Edit it was Hungerford, Poole and Darlington in 2017

20 mins from Guildford on the line towards Redhill. 5 mins walk from station.South Coast Shot wrote: βFri May 13, 2022 10:29 amPersonally I'm all for Dorking.AdeShot wrote: βFri May 13, 2022 9:13 amNo - capacity is currently 1k below what's needed in National League, but you get until Spring the following year to implement. Percussion won't be a problem, actively seem to encourage plenty of good away support, very friendly place, own bar welcomes away fans. Gave Maidstone 900 tickets of the 3,000 capacity, mostly flat standing spread around half the ground so I think the view was ok.

Believe itβs on the Reading to Redhill/Gatwick train route. Depending where you start from you can get on at Ash or Guildford to Dorking Deepdene, although it goes through Guildford more regularly than Ash.
A quick look on Google maps apparently from the station itβs a 10 minute walk to the ground.

Then what's not to love? Sure, I've got form for being anti some of the new-fangled clubs but these are largely the bank-rolled affairs like FGR and Harrogate. In Dorking's case from what you and others have had me learn on this board, it sounds as though ATFC could learn a thing or two from Dorking about connection with supporters and overall progression. I'm even tempted to go and have a look tomorrow and cheer them on.AdeShot wrote: βFri May 13, 2022 10:39 am20 mins from Guildford on the line towards Redhill. 5 mins walk from station.South Coast Shot wrote: βFri May 13, 2022 10:29 amPersonally I'm all for Dorking.

That's not so bad Ade. I've got a stinking head cold anyway. But I might be better tomorrow, who knows.
Some folk I've read on here wouldn't mind Oxford City. Now I have seen their ground, it was on TV in the FAC either this season or last.
Chippenham could be a good day out. As for the north, yes I really would like York.
Traditionalist view again but like us at least they're rich in football league history.
Unlike Maidenhead. A fan was larging it up on social media calling our ground a shambles and about how they finished higher than us.
I said come back to me when your club has actually ever achieved anything and BTW, we have away support that a club like yours could only dream of.

These things happen unfortunately, think Preston had a dreadful play off record until they beat someone 3-0 7/8 years agoChalkie wrote: βSat May 14, 2022 10:40 pmBrackley Town are destined to never go up via the Play Offs.aldershot-jg wrote: βSat May 14, 2022 7:10 pmAlso York City into the North playoff final, after a 1-0 at Brackley Town.

Ours isn't wonderful....
2004 Hereford (H) Draw, Hereford (A) Draw, Shrewsbury (N) Draw
2005 Carlisle (H) Win, Carlisle (A) Lose
2010 Rotherham (H) Lose, Rotherham (A) Lose
2017 Tranmere (H) Lose, Tranmere (A) Draw
2018 Ebbsfleet (H) Draw
Over 90 mins our record is Pld 10 Won 1 Drawn 5 Lost 4.
I seem to recall Chelmsford City also regularly making the South playoff and never coming through them
